Microsoft has confirmed supplying advanced artificial intelligence and cloud computing tools to the Israeli military during the Gaza war, marking its first public acknowledgment of involvement in the conflict. The technology, including Azure cloud storage and AI-powered language translation, was deployed to assist in the rescue of over 250 hostages taken by Hamas.
The company conducted an internal review and claims no evidence exists of its systems being used to harm Gaza civilians. Israel reportedly Leveraged these tools for data management and target identification—a process that scaled nearly 200-fold following the October 7 attacks.
